SupaKitch y Koralie

“Kimono Fusion” is a Japanese fashion exhibition in a playful manner based on the kimono and bubble on into the modern Japanese subcultures and fashion trends. Vintage kimonos mix with fashions and street-smart childishness of some of Japan's hottest designers. Handmade accessories for young geishas coexist with graffiti and hip origami shapes with patterns inspired by ancient kimonos.
For this occasion, Supakitch & Koralie spent a few days creating a huge mural ( 12m x 5m ) , documented in the video and photos below.

"I'm a daydreamer and I transcribe my fantasies by projecting myself in a utopian harmony, an aesthetic search, by mixing universes that would typically not meet. I mix graphic and cultural codes from different countries, customs, and folk art, either ancient or contemporary." Koralie

Supakitch

"What makes my work personal is the fact that I try not to cheat and do whatever I like before anything else.
I'm not thinking in doing things that other people will like, or what I know is fashionable. I always try to do what I like, what inspires me. This is what I express in my work. The thing really is just being yourself. Avoid trying to copy someone else.
We are always inspired by those who surround us and by other artists, sure, but you must always work with your own ingredients and techniques. Creating your own language." Koralie

"We use many things... We put them together and create new stuff with them. We work with them, compose with them... You have to find the functionality of things that apparently have no use. Suddenly, surreal and incredibvle stuff happens. When you mix this with the world of childhood you achieve unique things." SupaKitch
