Martín Chirino died on March 11 in the afternoon in Madrid.
The most cosmopolitan of the Canarian artists of the 20th century, of the lineage of Manolo Millares, Manuel Padorno and Juan Hidalgo, was a titan of sand and iron. He was an intellectual of art; he never gave up his roots, the Canary Islands, to which he returned whenever he could and where he leaves a foundation that has his name. His work is huge, present in squares, museums and collections. He never stopped drawing and sculpting. Thus he fulfilled a vocation that challenged age until now.

Jan Šplíchal's main works use photomontage as a means of expression. In practice, there are a number of sub-techniques, such as multi-exposure, mirroring, rotary shifting, Sabatier effect, solarization, etc. The digital technique simplified the process of combining multiple shots into a single art image, allowing similar results to be achieved with developing process in the darkroom.
