El 7 de Diciembre es el cumple de
James Fee, fotógrafo estadounidense nacido en 1949, conocido por sus imágenes de fábricas abandonadas y carreteras solitarias.
Fee fotografiaba imágenes que pensaba representaban a Estados Unidos iconos culturales en declive, como el desmoronamiento de autocines y coches oxidados y abandonados.
Su enfoque de la fotografía llevó a los comisarios de museos a dar a sus exposiciones títulos como "American Noir" y "El peso del tiempo". Sus fotografías se encuentran en las colecciones permanentes del Museo de Artes Fotográficas de San Diego, el Museo de Arte Benton William y el Museo Getty.
Fee vez colaboró con el escultor George Herms, que compartió su atracción por la Generación Beat.
Gran parte de su obra personal temprana se hizo usando una Graflex Norita 66 con una combinación de tubos de extensión, tele-extensores y teleobjetivos de mediados de siglo. La cámara y el equipo fue robado a principios de los 90 durante la creación de su serie "Photographs of Americana". Fee encontró difícil reemplazar la cámara y comenzó a experimentar con la de fabricación rusa Kieve 90 con adornos de lentes. Apreciaba la ironía de utilizar una cámara rusa para completar la serie.

El 8 de Diciembre es el cumple de
Aitor Alcalde Colomer, fotógrafo español nacido en 1992, uno de los más jóvenes acreditado en la Liga de Fútbol Profesional. Con sólo 17 años el departamento de comunicación, prensa e imagen del Levante UD le dio la oportunidad, y desde entonces ha podido fotografiar eventos de primer nivel.
Más tarde colaboró con la Real Federación Española de Hockey, gracias a la cual pudo asistir a competiciones a nivel nacional e internacional.
En su corta trayectoria profesional, ha fotografiado numerosas competiciones deportivas de fútbol, hockey, atletismo, tenis, patinaje, etc.
Actualmente trabaja como freelance para diferentes agencias y empresas que organizan eventos deportivos, y sus fotos pueden verse en publicaciones de los cinco continentes.

El 9 de Diciembre es el cumple de
Shirley Carter Burden, destacada fotógrafa estadounidense nacida en 1908, autora de ensayos y fotos sobre el racismo, el catolicismo e historia local. Sirvió en comités asesores de museos, incluyendo el Museo de Arte Santa Bárbara de California, y fue el presidente del Comité de Fotografía en el Museo de Arte Moderno de Nueva York, y de "Aperture", que nombró la Burden Gallery (Nueva York) en su honor .
En 1942, durante la 2ª Guerra, Mundial Burden estableció Tradefilms, produciendo con éxito películas de entrenamiento que entonces eran demandadas por parte de la Armada de Estados Unidos, la Oficina de Educación y Lockheed Aircraft. Este negocio era insostenible en la posguerra y Burden y su socio en Tradefilms, Todd Walker, abrieron un estudio de fotografía en Beverly Hills (California) en 1946, produciendo publicidad y fotografía arquitectónica para las revistas "Architectural Forum", "Casa y Jardín", y "Artes y Arquitectura".
Insatisfecha con la fotografía comercial, y habiendo abrazado el catolicismo, Burden se decidió por una carrera más plena en las bellas artes, alentada por Minor White a quien conoció en 1952. La amistad dio lugar a su patrocinio de la revista de White "Aperture". Ayudó a Edward Steichen reuniendo fotografías para el Museo de Arte Moderno (MoMA), y posteriormente contribuyendo con imágenes a la muestra itinerante de gran éxito internacional Familia del Hombre (1955), trabajando en ello también con Dorothea Lange de quien se hizo amiga. Estos contactos y experiencia lanzaron una exitosa carrera en la fotografía artística.

Clay Patrick McBride, fotógrafo retratista, artista y cineasta estadounidense nacido en 1968.
Comenzó su formación de artes visuales en el sur de Francia, donde pasó su adolescencia y primera juventud, estudiando bellas artes en la Escuela de Pintura y Dibujo de Leo Marchutz. Con el tiempo volvió su atención hacia la fotografía, pasando a la ciudad de Nueva York en la década de 1990 para asistir a la Escuela de Artes Visuales. Por aquellos tiempos, comenzó su carrera como ilustrador fotográfico de Gex-X, siendo su obra más notable una cubierta para la revista TIME de la princesa Diana.
McBride es conocido por sus retratos de atletas y músicos famosos, como Jay-Z, Norah Jones, Kanye West, Neil Young, Kid Rock, Metallica y LeBron James. Su trabajo ha aparecido en numerosas revistas como Rolling Stone, Sports Illustrated, Desfiles, y XXL. El trabajo comercial de McBride incluye portadas de discos para Sony, Universal Music y Atlantic Records, así como campañas de impresión para Pontiac, Volkswagen, GM y Nike.

El 11 de Diciembre es el cumple de
Daniel James "Dan" Dion, fotógrafo y productor de la comedia estadounidense nacido en 1970. És conocido por sus retratos de comediantes in situ, y ha sido el fotógrafo de la casa casa del mítico local de San Francisco The Fillmore desde 1993.
Asistió a la Universidad de Santa Clara, donde fue el director de comedia del campus, produciendo espectáculos como The Second City, PJ O'Rourke, y Greg Proops. Al graduarse se mudó a San Francisco a trabajar para el humorista político Will Durst en su club de la comedia, el Holy City Zoo.
En 1993 fue fotógrafo asistente para los Gigantes de San Francisco, y se convirtió en el fotógrafo de la casa de The Fillmore y The Warfield como parte del equipo de Bill Graham Presenta. Sus retratos in situ de comediantes han dado lugar a exposiciones en Gotham Comedy Club, The Punch Line San Francisco, el Upright Citizens Brigade Theater en Hollywood, así como una feria anual en el Montreal Just for Laughs Festival. En 2004, como productor, que trajo de vuelta a la comedia a The Onion púrpura y más tarde produjo una comedia stand-up en serie en la web para Crackle, una división de Sony Entertainment. El 12 de Diciembre es el cumple de
Iñigo Beristain Izaga, fotógrafo español nacido en Éibar (Guipúzcoa) en 1973.
Comenzó sus estudios de fotografía en la Escuela de Artes y Oficios de Vitoria de la mano de Koldo Mendaza.
En 2007 viajó en solitario por Asia realizando su proyecto fotográfico "De otras clases". Con este proyecto obtuvo la beca Roberto Villagraz de la escuela de fotografía e imagen EFTI de Madrid. Gracias a ella estudia en la citada escuela el Máster de Fotografía Internacional. Durante su estancia en Madrid trabajó en el Estudio de la fotógrafa Isabel Muñoz.
En 2007 fue finalista en el VII Premio de Fotografía El Cultural para artistas jóvenes. En 2009 logró el primer premio en el Festival de fotografía documental Periscopio, que cada año se realiza en Vitoria. En 2010 el Gobierno Vasco le concedió una de las Becas de Artes Plásticas y Visuales 2010 para desarrollar el proyecto "La letra pequeña de mi memoria".
A partir de 2011 está representado por la Galería ASM28 de Madrid. Sus trabajos han sido publicados en numerosas revistas de fotografía.

Hoy, 13 de Diciembre, es el cumple de
Thom Kerr, fotógrafo australiano nacido en 1984 en la Costa de Oro en Queensland, ahora radicado en Sydney, Australia.
Thom atrae la atención por la experimentación y colorido evidente en sus imágenes. En sus fotos tiende un puente entre los reinos de la fotografía de moda y el arte.
Desafiando el enfoque convencional, Thom crea tratamientos llamativos que transforman sus imágenes en fantasías deliciosas.
Con una mezcla de entornos entre el estudio y las localizaciones, la moda se celebra a través de los detallados personajes y narrativas que crea.

On December 7 is the birthday of
James Fee, American photographer born in 1949, known for his images of abandoned factories and lonesome highways.
Fee photographed images that he thought represented United States cultural icons in decline, such as crumbling drive-in movie theaters and rusting, abandoned cars.
Fee's approach to photography led museum curators to give his exhibitions such titles as "American Noir" and "The Weight of Time". His photographs are permanently housed in the San Diego Museum of Photographic Arts, the William Benton Museum of Art, and the Getty Museum.
Fee once collaborated with sculptor George Herms, who shared his attraction to the Beat Generation.
Much of Fee's earlier personal work was made using a Graflex Norita 66 with a combination of extension tubes, tele-extenders and mid-century telephoto lenses. The camera and gear was stolen in the early 90's during the creation of his "Photographs of Americana" series. Fee found it difficult to replace the camera and began to experiment using the Russian made Kieve 90 with lens embellishments. Fee appreciated the irony of using the Russian camera to complete the series.
He died in 2006.
On December 8 is the birthday of
Aitor Alcalde Colomer, Spanish photographer born in 1992, one of the youngest accredited to the League of Professional Football. With only 17 years, the department of communication, media and image of the Levante UD gave him the opportunity, and has since been photographed first class events.
Later he collaborated with the Royal Spanish Hockey Federation, through which he could attend competitions at national and international level.
In his short career, he has photographed numerous sports competitions football, hockey, athletics, tennis, skating, etc.

On December 9 is the birthday of
Shirley Carter Burden, prominent American photographer born in 1908, author of picture essays on racism, Catholicism, and history of place. He served on advisory committees of museums, including the Santa Barbara Museum of Art in California, and was the Photography Committee chairman at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, and of Aperture, which named the Burden Gallery (New York) in his honour.
During World War 2 Burden established Tradefilms in 1942, successfully producing training films which were then in demand from the US Navy, the Office of Education, and Lockheed Aircraft. This business was unsustainable postwar and Burden and Tradefilms partner Todd Walker opened a photography studio in Beverly Hills, California, in 1946, producing advertising and architectural photography for magazines Architectural Forum, House and Garden, Arts and Architecture.
Dissatisfied with commercial photography, and having embraced Catholicism, Burden decided on a more fulfilling fine art career, encouraged by Minor White whom he met in 1952. The friendship developed into his patronage of White’s Aperture magazine. He assisted Edward Steichen in gathering photography for, and subsequently contributing images to, MoMA’s highly successful, international travelling Family of Man (1955), working on this also with Dorothea Lange whom he befriended. These contacts and experience launched a successful fine art photography career.
She died in 1989.

McBride’s commercial work includes album covers for Sony, Universal Music, and Atlantic Records, as well as print campaigns for Pontiac, Volkswagon, GM, and Nike.

Daniel James "Dan" Dion, American photographer and comedy producer born in 1970. He is best known for his location portraiture of comedians, and has been the house photographer of the legendary San Francisco venue The Fillmore since 1993.
He attended Santa Clara University, where he was the campus comedy director, producing shows such as The Second City, P. J. O'Rourke, and Greg Proops. Upon graduation, he moved to San Francisco to work for political satirist Will Durst at his comedy club, the Holy City Zoo.
In 1993 he was an assistant photographer for the San Francisco Giants, and became the house photographer for The Fillmore and The Warfield venues as a staff shooter for Bill Graham Presents. His location portraits of comedians have spawned exhibitions at Gotham Comedy Club, The Punch Line San Francisco, the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater in Hollywood, as well as an annual show at the Montreal Just For Laughs Festival. In 2004, as a producer, he brought comedy back to The Purple Onion and later produced a stand-up comedy web series there for Crackle, a division of Sony Entertainment. In 2012 he produced the final show at the Purple Onion, when the entire building was sold to a restaurant concern.

Iñigo Beristain Izaga, Spanish photographer born in Eibar (Guipúzcoa) in 1973.
He began studying photography at the School of Arts and Crafts in Vitoria under Koldo Mendaza.
In 2007 he traveled through Asia alone doing his photography project "De otras clases." With this project won the scholarship Roberto Villagraz, Photo and Image School EFTI of Madrid. With that scholarship he studied the Master of International Photography at the same School. During his stay in Madrid, he worked in the studio of the photographer Isabel Muñoz.
In 2007 he was a finalist in the VII Cultural Photography Prize for young artists. In 2009 he won first prize at the Festival of documentary photography Periscope, which each year takes place in Vitoria. In 2010 the Basque Government granted a scholarship of Visual and Fine Arts 2010 to develop the project "The Small Print of my Memory."
From 2011 he's represented by the ASM28 Gallery in Madrid. His works have been published in numerous magazines of photography.

Thom Kerr, Australian photographer born in 1984 on the Gold Coast in Queensland, now based in Sydney Australia.
