Dennis Ziliotto fue el primer artista sobre quien publiqué al comenzar con el blog. Sus fotografías eran muy interesantes y estaban muy bien realizadas. Dos años después me interesaba ver en qué andaba su trabajo. Aquí va una selección con algo más de información. Más en el post previo.
By chance, Dennis Ziliotto was the first artist about whom I posted when started the blog. His photographs were very interesting and well done. Two years later I´m interested to see the evolution of his work. Here a new selection with more information. More in the previous post.

Dennis Ziliotto es un fotógrafo italiano que vive y trabaja en el norte del país, en Monselice, cerca de Venecia.

Jan Saudek es un fotógrafo y artista plástico nacido en Praga, entonces Checoslovaquia, el 13 de mayo de 1935.
Recibe su primera cámara en 1950, una Kodak Baby Brownie, sobre la que el propio Saudek dice: “lo único que se puede hacer con esta cámara es cargar la película, apretar el botón y hacer la foto; y eso es exactamente lo que he hecho hasta 1963”.
En 1951 colorea una foto, que su madre enseña al médico de la familia. Ésta asevera que es absolutamente mala, kitsch y que su estilo está pasado de moda, lo que desanima a Saudek a continuar con la fotografía por un tiempo. Paradójicamente, serán estas fotografías en blanco y negro coloreadas manualmente las que caracterizan y hacen, hoy en día, internacionalmente reconocible su trabajo.
En 1969 viaja a Estados Unidos, donde Hugh Edwards le anima a continuar con su labor artística. En la Universidad Bloomington de Indiana expone por primera vez en solitario.
A partir de los años setenta su trabajo empieza a ser conocido, pero hasta 1983 no publica su primer libro de fotografías.

Jan Saudek (b. 13 May 1935 in Prague, Czechoslovakia) is a Czech art photographer and painter.
According to Jan's biography he got his first camera, a Kodak Baby Brownie, in 1950. He apprenticed to a photographer and in 1952 started working as a print shop worker, where he worked until 1983. In 1959 he started using more advanced camera Flexaret 6x6, also engaged in painting and drawing. After completing his military service, he was inspired in 1963 by the exhibit catalogue of Steichen's Family of Man to try to become a serious art photographer. In 1969 he traveled to the United States and was encouraged in his work by curator Hugh Edwards.
