Dani Olivier
Dani Olivier es un fotógrafo francés nacido en 1969 en París. Se graduó en la escuela de negocios HEC. Hoy vive y trabaja en París.
Su obra es una mezcla de fotografía y pintura con luz. Así revela la belleza de la mujer, y se trata de revelarla en su doble dimensión de cuerpo y alma.
Dani comenzó en la fotografía de adolescente, en un club de fotografía semanal informal en París. Entre 2000 y 2006 trabajó en autorretratos digitales: le pedía a sus modelos que usaran una cámara digital para fotografiar sus primeras selfies desnudas. Su objetivo era capturar un momento único que no se podía reproducir: la primera selfie de una persona, mucho antes de que el concepto se hiciera popular.

«Paralelamente, buscaba un estilo gráfico, un espacio creativo en el que pudiera desarrollar un estilo personal e imágenes únicas.
Comencé a trabajar con patrones en movimiento para crear efectos de luz en el espacio, para probar distorsiones ópticas y proyectar imágenes en sus cuerpos. Rápidamente decidí dedicarme totalmente a este proyecto de "desnudos abstractos", y aún hoy trabajo en ello.»

Dani crea sus efectos en el momento de las tomas, proyectando imágenes complejas y patrones de luz intrincados sobre sus modelos. Nunca retoca los originales.
Las modelos están desnudas. No llevan accesorios de realce. Su maquillaje es mínimo.
Las imágenes están tomadas con un fondo negro. No hay accesorios: solo las modelos y la proyección de luz. Estas proyecciones son abstractas o figurativas.
La composición final es siempre surrealista.

«El cuerpo femenino es hermoso, y trabajo para producir imágenes hermosas. El cuerpo de una mujer es eterno. Durante diez mil años ha tenido las mismas curvas, la misma forma, el mismo ritmo y es algo que admirar. Desarrollé mi técnica con modelos hace unos 8 años. Sabía que había un gran potencial después de experimentar con algunas luces y diseños.»
«Cualquier tipo de ropa, ya sea lencería o una camiseta, es un tipo de moda. Es una oda a un tiempo y una tendencia específicos y eso es exactamente lo que evito. No soy bueno en "moda", esa no es mi dirección. Mi atención se centra en los elementos, en los rastros de movimiento.»

Dani Olivier is a French photographer born in 1969 in Paris. He graduated from the business school HEC. Today he lives and works in Paris.
His work is a mix of photography and painting with ligtht. They reveal the beauty of women and are aimed to unveil them in their double dimension of body and soul.
Dani started photography as a teenager in an informal, weekly photography club in Paris. Between 2000 and 2006, Olivier worked on digital self-portraits. He asked his models to use a digital camera to shoot their first nude selfies. He aimed to capture a unique moment that could not be reproduced: a person's very first selfie, long before the concept became popular.

«In parallel, I was looking for a graphic style, a creative space in which I could develop a personal look and unique images.
I began to put patterns in motion to create light-streaking effects in space, to test optical distortions, and to project images onto their bodies. Quickly, I decided to devote myself totally to this project of "abstract nudes" and I still work on it today.»

He creates his effects at the time of the shoots, by projecting complex images and intricate light patterns on his models. He never touches up the originals.
The models are nude. They do not wear enhancing accessories. Their make up is minimal.
The pictures are taken with a black background. There are no artifacts: just the models and the light projection. The projections are either abstract or figurative.
The final composition is always surreal.

«The female body is beautiful, and I am working to produce beautiful images. A woman’s body is eternal. For ten thousand years, it has had the same curves, the same shape, the same rhythm and it is something to admire. I developed my technique with models about 8 years ago. I knew there was a lot of potential after I experimented with a few lights and designs.»
«Any type of clothing, whether it be lingerie or a tee-shirt, is a type of fashion. It is an ode to a specific time and trend and that is exactly what I avoid. I am not good at ‘fashion’, that is not my direction. My focus is on the elements, of traces of movement.»
