El 1 de Diciembre es el cumple de
Jay Blakesberg, fotógrafo y cineasta estadounidense con sede en San Francisco, nacido en 1961.
Su juventud suburbana la pasó principalmente en Clark, Nueva Jersey, donde por primera vez descubrió su pasión por tomar fotografías. De adolescente comenzó a usar la cámara Pentax de su padre en conciertos locales.
La actuación que The Grateful Dead realizó en Meadowlands en 1978 fue el primer show de los Dead que fotografió. Unos años en la carretera con un grupo de personas llamadas Deadheads resultaron ser el comienzo de una obra fotográfica que continúa hasta nuestros días. La década de 1980 encontró a Blakesberg viviendo en Olympia, Washington, donde asistió al Evergreen State College. Harry James Benson, fotógrafo escocés nacido en Glasgow en 1929, cuyas imágenes han aparecido en publicaciones como LIFE, Vanity Fair, People y The New Yorker.
Benson fue asignado a viajar con los Beatles en su gira inaugural por los Estados Unidos en 1964. Una de sus imágenes más reconocibles muestra a la banda en una alegre pelea de almohadas en una habitación del hotel.
Entre las celebridades que Benson ha fotografiado están Bobby Fischer, Michael Jackson (que le permitió el acceso a su habitación) y Elizabeth Taylor, a quien Benson fotografió antes y después de su cirugía cerebral. Hugo Brehme, fotógrafo mexicano-alemán nacido en 1882 en Eisenach.
Arribó a México en 1905. Durante el desarrollo de la Revolución Mexicana fotografió las distintas facciones revolucionarias. Recorrió el país una vez finalizado el conflicto armado, tras lo cual logró formar una importante colección de vistas de ciudades mexicanas. En 1923 publicó el libro "México Pintoresco".
A los 20 años ya manejaba con maestría su equipo fotográfico, con el que tomaba fotos artísticas gracias a sus estudios en Alemania. Brehme vivió gran parte de su vida en México. Se le conoce por sus postales impresas y por su influencia sobre varias generaciones de fotógrafos mexicanos, entre ellos Manuel Álvarez Bravo.
En 1912 Brehme abrió un estudio en Ciudad de México. En 1919 abrió otro en la Avenida Cinco de Mayo Nº 27, al cual llamó “Fotografía Artística Hugo Brehme”. Es ahí donde Manuel Álvarez Bravo trabajó y aprendió los fundamentos de la fotografía y la producción de postales.
Brehme murió en un accidente automovilístico en 1954.

Jeffrey Leon "Jeff" Bridges, actor, cantante y productor nacido en 1949. Viene de una conocida familia de actores y comenzó su actuación en televisión en 1958, siendo aún un niño, con su padre Lloyd Bridges y su hermano Beau en "Sea Hunt". Ganó el Oscar al mejor actor por su papel como Otis "Bad" Blake en la película de 2009 "Crazy Heart" y obtuvo nominaciones al Oscar por sus papeles en "The Last Picture Show", "Thunderbolt and Lightfoot", "Starman", "The Contender" y "True Grit". Entre sus otras películas más conocidas se cuentan "El gran Lebowski", "Sin Miedo", "Iron Man", "The Fabulous Baker Boys", "Jagged Edge", "Against All Odds", "El rey pescador", "Tucker", "Seabiscuit", "Arlington Road", "Tron", "Tron: Legacy" y "The Giver".
Bridges ha sido un aficionado a la fotografía desde la escuela secundaria, y comenzó a tomar fotografías en los sets de filmación durante Starman, a sugerencia de su compañera de reparto Karen Allen. Desde 1980 comenzó a fotografiar dentro y fuera del set con su cámara favorita, una Widelux F8. Lisa Sheridan, actriz y fotógrafa estadounidense nacida en 1974 en Macon, Georgia.
Fue aficionada al teatro desde pequeña, apareciendo en su primera obra a la edad de 11 años. Estudió arte dramático en la Universidad Carnegie Mellon donde se graduó con honores, y recibió el Thomas Auclair Memorial Scholarship Award al estudiante mas prometedor como actor.
Gran parte de su carrera se ha desarrollado en televisión, apareciendo en series como Invasión, "El mentalista", "Las Vegas", "CSI: Las Vegas", "Diagnosis: Murder" y "Viajero en el tiempo".

Margaret Randall, escritora, fotógrafa, activista y académica estadounidense nacida en Nueva York en 1936.
Vivió durante muchos años en España, México, Cuba y Nicaragua, y pasó un tiempo en Vietnam del Norte durante los últimos meses de la guerra de Estados Unidos contra ese país. Ha escrito extensamente sobre sus experiencias en el extranjero y de regreso a los Estados Unidos, y ha sido profesora en el Trinity College en Hartford, Connecticut, y de otros colegios.
Ahora vive en Albuquerque, Nuevo México, con su pareja de muchos años, la pintora Barbara Byers. Viaja regularmente dando charlas y conferencias.

On December 1 is the birthday of
Jay Blakesberg, American, San Francisco-based, photographer and film maker born in 1961.
His suburban youth was spent mostly in Clark, New Jersey, where he first discovered a passion for taking pictures. As a young teenager, Blakesberg began taking his father's Pentax camera to local concerts.
The Grateful Dead performed at the Meadowlands in 1978 and was the first Dead show he photographed. A few years on the road with a group of people called Deadheads resulted in the beginning of a body of photographic work that continues to this day. The early 1980s found Blakesberg living in Olympia, Washington, where he attended the Evergreen State College. More intensive study and focus on photography and filmmaking led him to an internship doing corporate photography and video in the San Francisco Bay Area in the mid-1980s. This is when Blakesberg started bringing his camera to every musical event he attended.
In 1986, he became the house photographer at the rock club The I-Beam on Haight Street in San Francisco. This is where he began to photograph the birth of the Alternative Rock movement, shooting such bands as Janes Addiction, The Pixies and Soundgarden to name a few. During the late 1980s, the pace picked up for the number of Grateful Dead events Blakesberg was photographing.
On December 2 is the birthday of
Harry James Benson, Scottish photographer born in Glasgow in 1929, whose pictures have appeared in publications including Life, Vanity Fair, People and The New Yorker.
Benson was assigned to travel with The Beatles on their inaugural American tour in 1964. One of his most recognizable images shows the band in a gleeful pillow fight in a hotel room.
Other celebrities Benson has photographed include Bobby Fischer, Michael Jackson, who allowed him access to his bedroom, and Elizabeth Taylor, whom Benson photographed before and after her brain surgery. He has also photographed political figures, including every US president since Dwight D. Eisenhower, and covered war zones. Benson was standing next to Robert F. Kennedy when the Senator was shot on June 5, 1968 and has remarked on the difficulty of steeling himself in order to document the historic moment: "I kept telling myself 'this is for history, pull yourself together, fail tomorrow, not today'."

He arrived in Mexico in 1905. During the development of the Mexican Revolution photographed the various revolutionary factions. Toured the country after the conflict, after which managed to form an important collection of Mexican cities views. In 1923 he published the book Picturesque Mexico.
At 20 he masterfully handled his photographic equipment in taking artistic photos thanks to their his in Germany. Brehme lived most of his life in Mexico. It is known for its printed postcards and his influence on several generations of Mexican photographers, including Manuel Alvarez Bravo.

Brehme died in a car accident in 1954.

Among his other better-known major motion films are: The Big Lebowski, Fearless, Iron Man, The Fabulous Baker Boys, Jagged Edge, Against All Odds, The Fisher King, Tucker, Seabiscuit, Arlington Road, Tron, Tron: Legacy and The Giver.
Bridges has been an amateur photographer since high school, and began taking photographs on film sets during Starman, at the suggestion of co-star Karen Allen. Since 1980, he began photographing on and off set shot with his favorite camera, a Widelux F8. He published many of these photographs online and published a book in 2003 entitled, Pictures: Photographs by Jeff Bridges.

Today, December 6, is the birthday of
Margaret Randall, American-born (New York City, 1936) writer, photographer, activist and academic.
She lived for many years in Spain, Mexico, Cuba, and Nicaragua, and spent time in North Vietnam during the last months of the U.S. war against that country. She has written extensively on her experiences abroad and back in the United States, and has taught at Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut, and other colleges.
She now lives in Albuquerque, New Mexico, with her partner of many years, the painter Barbara Byers. She travels widely to read and lecture.
