Hugh Turvey

Hugh Turvey is a British artist, photographer and experimentalist born in 1971, who works primarily with X-ray technology.
He studied at Swindon Art College (1989–1990) and the Royal Berkshire College of Art and Design (1992–1993), before enrolling at Blackpool and the Fylde College (latterly the University of Central Lancashire) in Lancashire (1992–1994).
Turvey's creative influences came from Russian Constructivist concepts (most notably the work of Alexander Rodchenko and more recently the extensive and innovative high-speed and stroboscopic photographic studies by Dr Harold E Edgerton.
Realising the parallels between x-ray and photography, Hugh began working on a new type of Rayogram, wherein the object’s shadow was not only exterior, but also interior, thus depicting its inner structure and density. He defines these images as being ‘Xograms’ and differentiates them from photograms by the frequency of the ‘light’ used to expose the ‘paper’.

Christiane Vleugels

Christiane Vleugels is a Belgium artist and writing, working in the traditional medium.
«When I reached the age of seventeen, I decided to try my luck in the city of Antwerp and enjoyed three years of education at SISA, where I devoted myself to Decor, publicity and nature drawings.
After successfully completing those years, I proudly enrolled myself into the Royal Academy of Antwerp, where I would follow two years of life drawing and familiarize myself further with the technique of oil on canvas.»
«Each new painting unveils a certain aspect and makes it clear to me that I have chosen the right path in life. A life in which I have yet to learn and give so much.
This is why none of my paintings carry a certain message or political statement.
The sole purpose of my work is to tempt people to dream.»

Tip Toland

Tip Toland is a sculptor and instructor living in the Seattle, Washington area. Her current focus is figurative ceramic sculpture.
She has an B.F.A., Ceramics, University of Colorado, Boulder, CO (1975) and a M.F.A., Ceramics, Montana State University, Bozeman, MT (1981). Tip has shown her work in collective and solo exhibitions since 1980. Her work is present in many private collections and mueums.
With her hiperrealistic sculptures, while exploring age and aging, Toland’s work attempts to give voice to inner psychological and spiritual states of being. What is of primary importance to her is that the figures contain particular aspects of humanity, which they mirror back to the viewer. It’s the fragility and transient aspect of mankind that the artist is after. That is one reason for choosing very old or very young subjects; they both portray innocence as well as complexity.

Yudy Sauw is an Indonesian photographer born in Mekarsari, Jawa Barat, in 1980, currently based in Tangerang, and on his Facebook page shows a great collection of macro photography of insects, treated artistically. His close ups have a definition and colors really shocking. I have selected some images with great difficulty, as most worthwhile.
