Hirotoshi Itoh [Escultura]

Hirotoshi Itoh hace reir a las piedras... y no es sólo un juego de palabras. Basta ver las creaciones de este notable artista japonés. Un trabajo sorprendente.


Hirotoshi Itoh makes stones laugh ... and is not just a pun. Just look at the creations of this remarkable Japanese artist. An amazing work.

Hirotoshi Itoh es un escultor japonés nacido en Matsumoto, prefectura de Nagano, en 1958.
Se graduó en la Universidad Nacional de Bellas Artes en 1982, y más tarde se hizo cargo del negocio de albañilería de su familia.

Como él mismo escribe:
"Soy un artista y artesano que talla esculturas en piedra. Desde 1979 a 1982 aprendí acerca del trabajo en metal en un curso técnico de la Universidad de Bellas Artes de Tokyo. Durante mi época universitaria sentí interés en mostrar la blandura de expresión del duro metal, y lo utilicé más adelante para trabajar en piedra."

"Aunque hago diferentes trabajos con varios tipos de piedras, la mayoría de mi trabajo consiste en optimizar la forma original de las piedras. Las recojo en el lecho de un río cerca de donde vivo. Aunque lo habitual es que las piedras tengan una imagen de dureza, creo que aún así es posible expresar calidez y humor."

Hirotoshi Itoh is a Japanese sculptor born in Matsumoto, in the Nagano prefecture (1958).
He graduates from Tokyo National Fine Arts University in 1982 and later went into his family business as a stonemason. As he wrote:

"I am an artist and artisan who carve sculptures in stone. I from 1979 to 1982 learned concerning the work by the metal in the Tokyo National University of Fine Arts technical course. I in my university age, feel interest in showing the expression which the hard metal in soft, and would like to utilize to also the work of the stone."

"Although I work with various kinds of stones, most of my work consist of optimizing a stone's original shape. I pick up these stones from a river bed in my neighborhood. While utilizing the image that a stone is hard, I think even from how on I would like to express the warmth and humour."

La Feria anual en Agata-no-mori, el último fin de semana de Mayo, es siempre un agradable evento con una atmósfera plácida. Es un acontecimiento familiar, ideal para los niños. Hay mucho espacio para sentarse en el césped, hacer un picnic. 
No hay revendedores, sólo artistas (más de 260 en ésta edición).

The Annual Craft Fair in Agata-no-mori on its traditional last weekend in May is always a really nice event with a pleasant atmosphere. Its a real family affair and child-friendly. There is plenty of space to sit down on the grass and have a picnic.

No resellers, only artists, over 260 in this edition.
