Aniversarios / Anniversaries (I) [Febrero / February 1-8]

A year ago I began a series dedicated to commemorate the birth anniversaries of artists on the facebook page of the blog, posting a daily picture and a brief biographical summary from Wiki or any reliable source. Three months ago, I expanded with a new series, this time for photographers. This year I'll continue with both, and also publishing on Saturday or Sunday a post with the anniversaries of the week on the blog. During this first year, two artists for each day - those I already published in facebook during 2013 and the ones for 2014.
English translation at the end of this post.

About 1616 to 1624 he is thought to have lived in Italy. On his return to the Netherlands, Van Campen turned to architecture, applying ideas borrowed from Andrea Palladio, Vincenzo Scamozzi and classical influences from Vitruvius. He died in 1885.

Alison Saar, American artist born in 1956, whose work explores themes of African cultural diaspora and spirituality.
During high school, Alison began assisting her father in his restoration work. She received a BA from Scripps College (Claremont, CA) in 1978, having studied African and Caribbean art with Dr. Samella Lewis. Saar’s thesis was on Southern African-American folk art. She received an MFA from Otis Art Institute, now known as Otis College of Art and Design (Los Angeles, CA) in 1981.
