En la epopeya hindú Ramayana, Jatayu (en sánscrito: जटायुः Jaṭāyuḥ) es un pájaro divino y el hijo menor de Aruṇa. Su hermano, Sampati, es un semidiós que tiene la forma de un águila y era un viejo amigo de Dasharatha (el padre de Rama).

In the Hindu epic Ramayana, Jatayu (Sanskrit: जटायुः Jaṭāyuḥ) is a divine bird and the younger son of Aruṇa. His brother, Sampati, is a demi-god who has the form of an eagle and was an old friend of Dasharatha (Rama's father).

El crítico milanés Enrico Piceni definió los retratos de Adolfo Wildt como "retratos de ideas, no de hombres: y por lo tanto de un terrible parecido". Con respecto a este extraordinario busto de mármol, Piceni, tras ser preguntado si representaba a Pío XI, respondió: "No, la Iglesia Apostólica Romana. Un bloque, magistral y estático como una catedral; el rostro del hombre casi desaparece bajo el enorme peso del triregnum (la tiara papal), y el anillo de Pedro es más importante que la mano que lo lleva". Adolfo Wildt completó el trabajo en 1926 (el año en que se convirtió en profesor de escultura en la Academia de Brera) sin un encargo del Vaticano, que tardó más de cuarenta años en aceptarlo. Obra madura de este extraordinario virtuoso de la escultura en mármol, el gran busto fue expuesto en la Bienal de Venecia de 1926, en el centro de la rotonda, bajo la cúpula de Galileo Chini. Fuente

The Milanese critic Enrico Piceni defined Adolfo Wildt's portraits as “portraits of ideas, not of men: and therefore of a terrible resemblance”. With regard to this extraordinary marble bust Piceni, after being asked whether it portrayed Pius XI, answered, “No, the Roman Apostolic Church. A block, masterly and static as a cathedral; the face of the man almost disappears below the enormous weight of the triregnum, and the ring of Peter is more important than the hand that wears it”. Adolfo Wildt completed the work in 1926 – the year in which he became Professor of Sculpture at the Brera Academy – without a commission from the Vatican, which took over forty years to accept it. A mature work by this extraordinary virtuoso of marble sculpture, the large bust was exhibited at the Venice Biennale in 1926, at the centre of the rotunda, under Galileo Chini’s dome. Source

Conocida por monedas de Cícico (Asia menor) y numerosas copias. Hallada en Roma en 1630, fue fuertemente restaurada: una gran part de los brazos y piernas, los címbalos y el tronco del árbol son modernos. Parece que el sátiro originalmente marcaba el compás chasqueando los dedos al ritmo y usando una especie de castañuelas griegas con su pie.

Known by coins of Cyzicus (Asia Minor) and numerous copies. Found in Rome in 1630, it was heavily restored: a large part of the arms and legs, the cymbals and the tree trunk are modern. It seems that the satyr originally was beating time, snapping fingers in rhythm and using a kind of Greek castanets with his foot.
