This powerful head, as the title indicates, is not a literal recreation but interprets the spirit of the Andalusian poet and his serious, somewhat bitter gesture. It is one of the eight existing sculptures, based on the monument to Machado in Baeza (1965), created by Serrano and the architect Fernando Ramón. Other examples can be found in Providence (Rhode Island), New York (M.O.M.A.), Paris (Museum of Modern Art) and the city of Soria where Machado also lived.
