"Oso polar / Polar Bear" © Paul Nicklen/National Geographic

«This is a picture of a polar bear diving underneath the ice and the water reflection. I've first drawn on a piece of paper the years beforehand, and I've been trying for ten years, every year going up to the artic trying to get that one shot at that bear diving underneath the water like that, to get a nice underwater picture to show people a look at the bear that they haven't seen before.
At the time I didn't know I got the shot but when I got the film back, I thought there's an image that the readers of National Geographic gonna appreciate and that they can ask themselves questions about live in a world without polar bears.»
