El artista británico Alan M. Hunt comenzó a pintar a los ocho años, cuando su madre le regaló una caja de pinturas para que se mantuviera ocupado mientras se recuperaba de una doble neumonía. Comenzó pintando aves de jardín británicas desde la ventana de su dormitorio con su ejemplar de 1937 del Libro de los Observadores de Aves Británicas y las ilustraciones de Archibald Thorburn, que le habían fascinado desde muy temprana edad. British Wildlife Artist Alan M Hunt began painting at the age of eight, when his mother gave him a box of paints to occupy him as he recuperated from an illness, double pneumonia. He started off painting british garden birds from his bedroom window with his 1937 copy of the Observers Book of British Birds and Archibald Thorburn illustrations, which had fascinated him from an early age. Alan soon moved on to capture the other wildlife and the natural world around him on watercolour paper, board and canvas.

«As a wildlife artist and conservationist, I have grave concerns for the environment and believe it needs as much support as I can possibly give, whether financially or as a spokesman. If my son doesn't get to see half the wildlife in his lifetime that I've seen, I will feel very guilty. Rather than become a famous painter / artist I would like to be remembered as someone who tried to make people aware of the need to protect the environment, wildlife and the planet.»

Miguel Macaya

Miguel Macaya es un pintor español nacido en 1964 en Santander.
Frente a sus telas, el espectador tiene la impresión de haber encendido la luz y soprendido al sujeto.
Macaya pinta como los antiguos maestros: nos recuerda a Goya, a Rembrandt y a Velázquez, esa es la comparación evidente y la que nos brinda el placer inmediato del reconocimiento. Pero Macaya no es un maestro antiguo, es un pintor de este siglo. Sus cuadros son cuadros sin paisaje, y sus sujetos, desplazados. Están solos, no les acompaña ni siquiera objetos, y a menudo les falta una parte esencial de su anatomia. Esa ausencia no hace sino acrecentar nuestra curiosidad.
Macaya no adorna sus cuadros con largos y apócrifos títulos: no hay un discurso que le preceda, no hay más paisaje que el negro o el crepúsculo de grises de algunos retratos y caprichos. Un rinoceronte es un rinoceronte, una cebra es una cebra y un waterpolista es waterpolista, y a nadie debería sorprenderle encontrarse frente a frente con ellos. Galería Jorge Alcolea

Miguel Macaya is a Spanish painter born in 1964 in Santander.
In front of his canvases, the viewer has the impression of having turned on the light and surprised the subject.
Macaya paints like the old masters: he reminds us of Goya, Rembrandt and Velázquez, that is the obvious comparison and the one that gives us the immediate pleasure of recognition. But Macaya is not an old master, he is a painter of this century. His paintings are paintings without landscape, and his subjects are displaced. They are alone, not even objects accompany them, and often lack an essential part of their anatomy. This absence only increases our curiosity.
Macaya does not adorn his paintings with long, apocryphal titles: there is no discourse that precedes it, there is no landscape other than the black or grey twilight of some portraits and caprices. Fabrizio Clerici

Fabrizio Clerici fue un pintor italiano nacido en 1913.
Fue un artista complejo y ecléctico, y también fue arquitecto, diseñador de vestuario, escenógrafo y fotógrafo. Sus obras se expusieron en numerosos museos de Estados Unidos, como el MoMA y el Museo Guggenheim, y en Francia, como el Centre Pompidou.
En 1920 se trasladó a Roma donde estudió en la Scuola Superiore di Architettura, y obtuvo el título de arquitecto en 1937.
A su regreso a Roma después de la Segunda Guerra Mundial, estudió los trabajos científicos de Athanasius Kircher, Erhard Schön y Jean François Niceron. En enero de 1945 participó con Savinio en una exposición colectiva. Hasta 1948 continuó produciendo dibujos y grabados.
Paralelamente a sus pinturas, cada vez más fantásticas y mágicas, trabajó para el teatro.

Fabrizio Clerici was an Italian painter born in 1913.
He was a complex and eclectic artist and was also an architect, costume designer, scenographer and photographer. His works were exhibited in many museums in the United States, including the MoMA and the Guggenheim Museum, and in France, such as the Centre Pompidou.
In 1920 Clerici moved to Rome, where he studied at the Scuola Superiore di Architettura, and obtained an architecture degree in 1937.
Upon his return to Rome after the Second World War he closely perused the scientific studies of Athanasius Kircher, Erhard Schön and Jean François Niceron. In January 1945 he and Savinio participated in a collective exhibition. Until 1948, Clerici continued to produce drawings and engravings.

"Pasé mucho tiempo dibujando y pintando animales con acuarelas cuando era niño. Era lo que me gustaba hacer y era una forma de escapar de todo y de todos los demás (prefería estar solo, y sigo prefiriéndolo).
Comencé a pintar con acrílicos en 1998. Mi abuela me enseñó un poco, pero soy principalmente autodidacta.
Fui a la ciudad de Gjøvik a estudiar diseño gráfico en 2008. No me gustó. Demasiadas restricciones, demasiadas reglas.
Comencé mi licenciatura en artes visuales y diseño en 2009. 2012 (durante mi último año de escuela) fue el año en que empecé a tomarme en serio mi pintura.
Sentí que no podía llegar más lejos con los acrílicos. Nunca terminaba las pinturas y seguía cometiendo los mismos errores una y otra vez. Así que decidí probar la pintura al óleo. «I spent a lot of time drawing and painting animals with watercolors as a child. It was what I liked to do and was an escape from everything and everyone else (I preferred being alone – still do).
Started painting with acrylics in 1998. My grandmother taught me a little, but I’m mainly self taught.
Went to the city of Gjøvik to study graphic design in 2008. I didn’t like it. Too many restrictions, too many rules.
Started my bachelor’s degree in visual arts and design in 2009. 2012 (During my last year of school) was the year I started getting serious about my painting.
Felt like I couldn’t get any further with acrylics. The paintings were never finished and I kept making the same mistakes over and over again. So I decided to try oil paint. This was in 2013 and I’ve never looked back. I still use acrylics on the underpaint though. Oil paint has allowed me to focus more on improving my technique and I keep learning as I go.»

While director of the Museum, Scheele organized explorations and archeological digs to find items to add to the museum's collection
In 1972, Scheele became the executive director of the World Wildlife Fund in Washington, D.C. Later he served as the director of the South Carolina State Museum, the Miami Museum of Science and the Columbus Museum of Art in Columbus, Georgia. Scheele was a founding member of the Ohio chapter of the Nature Conservancy. He also painted wildlife and natural history subjects and won awards in watercolor and illustration in the Cleveland MAY SHOW. He wrote and illustrated seven books on paleontology and other related subjects. Scheele had a weekly nature column in the CLEVELAND PRESS from 1950 to 1972.
