El reconocido pintor pakistaní Jamil Naqsh falleció el jueves 16 a los 80 años.
La familia confirmó la noticia de su muerte. "Falleció esta mañana, a las 5:30 en el Hospial de Santa María, donde fue ingresado hace cuatro días", dijeron. Había ingresado tras sufrir una neumonía.

Jamil Naqsh nació en 1939 en la India Británica y luego se mudó a Karachi, Pakistán. En su adolescencia temprana tuvo la experiencia de viajar solo a través de Chittagong, Calcuta y Colombo. Aprendió mucho sobre la vida en ese duro viaje. También adquirió durante el viaje un gran respeto por las tradiciones artísticas del pasado. Las impresiones de este viaje influyeron más tarde en su pensamiento y obra.
Naqsh se formó como miniaturista con el ex profesor de la Escuela Nacional de Artes Ustaad Haji Sharif en Lahore a partir de 1953. Abandonó la Escuela Nacional de Artes sin completar su título ya que sentía que la experiencia, no las calificacones, era lo importante.

Renowned Pakistani artist Jamil Naqsh passed away on Thursday 16th.
The family confirmed the news of his death. “He passed away this morning at 5:30am at St Mary’s Hospital where was admitted four days ago,” the family said. He had been admitted to the hospital after being infected with pneumonia.

Jamil Naqsh was born in 1939 in British India, and later moved to Karachi, Pakistan. In his early teens, he had the experience of travelling alone through Chittagong, Calcutta and Colombo. He learned a lot about life in that harsh journey. He also gained a great respect for the art traditions of the past, while travelling. This journey's impressions later influenced his thinking and work.
Naqsh trained as a miniaturist under former National College of Arts professor Ustaad Haji Sharif in Lahore starting in 1953. He left the National College of Arts without completing his degree as he felt it was the experience not the qualification that was important.

El 17 de Mayo falleció el popular pintor y grabador Peter Dahl a los 85 años
Dahl nació en 1934 en Oslo, llegó a Suecia de niño en febrero de 1939, cuando sus padres se establecieron en el distrito de Bromma, en Estocolmo. Dahl se convirtió en ciudadano sueco en 1954.

Fue educado en el Royal University College of Fine Arts en Estocolmo 1958–1963 bajo Lennart Rodhe y fue profesor principal en la Escuela de Bellas Artes Valand en Gotemburgo 1971–73 y profesor en el Royal University College of Fine Arts en Estocolmo 1975–79. . También enseñó en Gerlesborgsskolan desde 1959 hasta 1969.
En los últimos años su salud se había deteriorado mucho. En 2015, los médicos descubrieron un tumor en su cerebro, que era demasiado grande para la cirugía.

On May 25 the Swedish painter and printmaker Peter Dahl passed away aged 85.
Dahl was born in 1934 in Oslo. He arrived in Sweden as a child in February 1939, when his parents settled in the Stockholm district of Bromma. Dahl became a Swedish citizen in 1954.

He was educated at the Royal University College of Fine Arts in Stockholm 1958–1963 under Lennart Rodhe and was head teacher at Valand School of Fine Arts in Gothenburg 1971–73 and professor at the Royal University College of Fine Arts in Stockholm 1975–79. He also taught at Gerlesborgsskolan from 1959 to 1969.
In recent years his health had deteriorated a lot. In 2015, doctors discovered a tumor in his brain, which was too large for surgery.
