Nathan vive en Los Angeles. Obtuvo su Bachiller en Bellas Artes graduándose con honores. Estudió en el Art College Design de Pasadena, California. Desde 2004 ha estado enseñando en la Academia de Arte Figurativo de Los Angeles; dibujo y pintura de retratos, pintura de retratos avanzada, boceto del natural, teoría del color y fundamentos de composición.

Desde 2009 ha trabajado como consultor y realizado trabajos para estudios como Disney, Blizzard Entertainment, THQ Montreal, Big Fish Studios y Infinity Ward.

"Clark Allen". Fallecido en 2008. Era un sujeto muy querido y modelo favorito para muchos artistas locales. Especialmente para mí. /

Died in 2008. He was a delightful man and a favorite subject for local artists, especially me.

Desde 1996 ha trabajado en desarrollo conceptual, visual y de producción, así como otras muchas actividades en DreamWorks Animation.

Su trabajao forma parte de cortos y películas de animación tales como "The Prince of Egypt (El príncipe de Egipto)", 1998, "Spirit, Stallion of the Cimarron (Spirit, El corcel indomable)", 2002, "Sinbad, Legend of Seven Seas (Simbad, La Leyenda de los Siete Mares)", 2003, "Shark Tale (El Espantatiburones)", 2004, "How to Train Your Dragon (Cómo entrenar a tu dragón)", 2010, "Shrek Forever After (Shrek 4, Felices para siempre)", 2010 y "The Legend of Puss in Boots (El Gato con Botas)", 2011 entre otras.

Izq./ Left: "Esto (izquierda) es algo que hice para mi clase de pintura de cabezas cuando estudiaba en el Art Center en Pasadena. Recuerdo esta con cariño porque tras varias pinturas absolutamente desastrosas, finalmente empecé a comprender cómo controlar el color y los valores. /

This is something I did for my head painting class way back when I was studying at Art Center in Pasadena. I remember this one fondly because after several completely disastrous paintings, I finally started to understand how to control color and value."

"Hago arte conceptual, color y diseño de iluminación para proyectos de animación y entretenimientos para clientes tan notables como DreamWorks, Blue Sky y Disney. Es un gran empleo pero todo se pinta digitalmente, así que en mi tiempo libre pinto con medios tradicionales. En estas pinturas y bocetos es que hago énfasis en mi blog, aunque también publico trabajos digitales y demostraciones de clase para beneficio de mis estudiantes."

"Este pájaro voló hacia abajo posando para mí mientras estaba haciendo un boceto de un paisaje en Hawaii. Lo preferí antes que el paisaje en el cual estaba trabajando. /

This bird flew down and all but posed for me while I was landscape sketching out in Hawaii. I like this one better than the landscape I had been working on."

Nathan lives in LA. He gets his BFA in Illustration and Entertainment Design in The Art Center College of Design, Pasadena, CA.

Since 2004 teachs in Los Angeles Academy of Figurative Art; Portrait Drawing, Portrait Painting, Advanced Portrait Painting, Sketching from Life, Color Theory and Findamentals od Composition.

Since 2009 Consulting and workshops for entertainment studios: Disney, Blizzard Entertainment, THQ Montreal, Big Fish Studios and Infinity Ward.

"I do concept art, color and lighting design for animation and entertainment projects, notable clients include DreamWorks, Blue Sky and Disney. It's a great job but everything is painted digitally so I spend my own time painting with traditional mediums. These paintings and sketches are the emphasis my blog, I'll also be posting my digital work where possible as well as classroom demonstrations for the benefit of my art students."
