El 1 de Marzo es el cumple de
Leonard John French, fotógrafo inglés de moda y retratos, nacido en 1904 en Edmonton, Londres.
Originalmente se formó y trabajó como artista comercial, convirtiéndose en director fotográfico en un estudio de publicidad justo antes de la Segunda Guerra Mundial, durante la cual se desempeñó como oficial en la Guardia de Granaderos.

En 1948 creó su propio estudio fotográfico. Trabajando originalmente con el Daily Express, fue pionero en una nueva forma de fotografía de moda adecuada para la reproducción en papel de periódico, que involucraba, mientras fuera posible, la luz natural reflejada y el bajo contraste. También realizó fotografía de retrato. El propio French dedicó mucha atención al conjunto y la presentación de sus modelos, pero dejó la activación real del obturador a los asistentes, entre los que se encontraban Terence Donovan y David Bailey.
En 1942 se casó con Vere Denning (1910–91), una periodista de moda, quien entregó su archivo fotográfico al Victoria and Albert Museum. Francés murió de linfoma en el Royal Marsden Hospital, en 1966.

On March 1 is the birthday of
Leonard John French, English fashion and portrait photographer, born in 1904 in Edmonton, London.
He originally trained and worked as a commercial artist, becoming a photographic director in an advertising studio just before World War II, during which he served as an officer in the Grenadier Guards.

In 1948 he set up his own photographic studio. Working originally with the Daily Express he pioneered a new form of fashion photography suited to reproduction in newsprint, involving where possible reflected natural light and low contrast. He also undertook portrait photography. French himself devoted much attention to the set and posing of his models, but left the actual triggering of the shutter to assistants, amongst whom were Terence Donovan and David Bailey.
In 1942 he married Vere Denning (1910–91), a fashion journalist, who gave his photographic archive to the Victoria and Albert Museum. French died of lymphoma in the Royal Marsden Hospital, in 1966.

Zdenko Feyfar, fotógrafo checo nacido en 1913 en Podkrkonoší.
Aprendió el amor por la fotografía de su padre, el médico y fotógrafo aficionado Jaroslav Feyfar.
Después de graduarse en el Gymnasium de Jilemnice en 1933, fue a estudiar a la Facultad de Medicina de la Universidad Charles en Praga. Después del cierre de las universidades checas en 1939, trabajó brevemente como funcionario en un banco. De 1940 a 1943 estudió fotografía en la Escuela Estatal de Artes Gráficas de Praga, donde fue enseñado por Jaromír Funke. Sus profesores también fueron Josef Ehm y Rudolf Skopec. Después de graduarse, trabajó como fotógrafo de cine en Barrandov Studios hasta el final de la guerra.

En 1949 se convirtió en miembro de la Manes Artists Association, en 1950 miembro de la Unión de Artistas Finos de Checoslovaquia, y en 1958 miembro del grupo de artistas industriales de Umělecké beseda.
Murió en 2001.

On March 2 is the birthday of
Zdenko Feyfar, Czech photographer born in 1913 in Podkrkonoší.
He learned love of photography from his father, the doctor and amateur photographer Jaroslav Feyfar.
After graduating from the Gymnasium in Jilemnice in 1933, he went to study at the Medical Faculty of Charles University in Prague. After the closure of Czech universities in 1939 he worked briefly as an official in a bank. From 1940 to 1943, he studied photography at the State School of Graphic Arts in Prague where he was taught by Jaromír Funke. His professors were also Josef Ehm and Rudolf Skopec. After graduating, he worked as a film photographer at Barrandov Studios until the end of the war.

In 1945 he returned to the State Graphic School as a professor. He taught there until 1951, then he became a freelancer in Prague. He died in 2001.

Glen E. Friedman, American photographer and artist born in 1962.
Friedman became known for his activities within rebellious skateboarding and music cultures. Photographing artists Fugazi, Black Flag, Dead Kennedys, Circle Jerks, Minor Threat, Misfits, Bad Brains, Beastie Boys, Run-D.M.C., KRS-One, and Public Enemy, as well as classic skateboarding originators Tony Alva, Jay Adams, Alan Gelfand, Duane Peters, and Stacy Peralta, among others.
Friedman's photography has been published in eight of his books as well as in many other publications, on many record covers, and has been exhibited in art galleries and museums. His work is held in numerous photography collections including the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. He has been inducted as an "Icon" into the Skateboarding Hall of Fame.
Friedman is a progressive political activist. He lives in New York City.

Jorge Aguirre, fotógrafo argentino nacido en Buenos Aires en 1929, que trabajó en diversos medios nacionales e internacionales. Durante su carrera realizó varios reportajes sobre la ciudad de Buenos Aires, reflejando una visión crítica de la sociedad de la época.
Con 18 años comienza estudios de Ciencias Económicas en la Universidad de Buenos Aires, pero dos años después inicia estudios artísticos con Clement Moreau. Al poco comenzó a trabajar en diferentes ocupaciones, abandonó sus estudios universitarios y en 1956 comenzó a interesarse por la fotografía. En 1958 entró a trabajar como reportero gráfico en el periódico argentino El Nacional, manteniendo simultáneamente colaboraciones con Associated Press y las publicaciones "Leoplán", "Vea y Lea" o "Time-Life".

Sus últimos trabajos fueron para la Editorial Perfil y publicaciones como «Mujer», «La Semana» y Playboy.
En 1986 se realizó una retrospectiva de sus fotografías en el Centro Cultural General San Martín.
Murió en 1996.

Jorge Aguirre, Argentine photographer born in 1929, who worked in different national and international media. During his career he made several reports about the city of Buenos Aires, reflecting a critical vision of the society of the time.
At the age of 18, he began studying economics at the University of Buenos Aires, but two years later he began studying art with Clement Moreau. Soon he began to work in different occupations, abandoned his university studies and in 1956 he became interested in photography. In 1958 he began working as a photojournalist in the Argentine newspaper El Nacional, simultaneously maintaining collaborations with Associated Press and the publications «Leoplán», «Vea y Lea» or Time-Life.
In the sixties he worked for different media of the "Editorial Abril" and the "Editorial Atlántida", "Panorama", "Claudia", "Parabrisas", "Siete Días", "El Gráfico" and "Para Ti". He also collaborates with the photography of the collection "Mi país, tu país, Enciclopedia argentina de la escuela y el hogar" (My country, your country, Argentine encyclopedia of school and home", of the Center Editor of Latin America. His work is included in a title of the collection "Argentine artists of the 20th century", from the same Center, under the category of photography. In the seventies he broadened his collaborations in the media. His last works were for Editorial Perfil and publications such as «Mujer», «La Semana» and "Playboy".
In 1986 a retrospective of his photographs was made at the General San Martín Cultural Center.
He died in 1996.

Rosemarie Clausen (Rose Marie Margarethe Elisabeth Kögel), fotógrafa alemana nacida en 1907 en Berlín, especializada en imágenes sobre el teatro.
Tras sus estudios de arte, desde 1925 se formó en fotografía en la escuela de Lette-Verien de Berlín. Trabajó como colaboradora del fotógrafo Elli Marcus hasta que éste abandonó Alemania en 1933, por lo que continúo realizando fotografías en los teatros por cuenta propia, trabajando sobre todo para el teatro nacional en el Gendarmenmarkt que dirigía Gustaf Gründgens. En 1938 publicó su primer libro de fotografías titulado «El hombre sin máscara».
En 1938 se casó con el periodista Jürgen Clausen con el que convivió hasta su muerte en 1944 a causa de los bombardeos estadounidenses de la Big Week. Al finalizar la guerra se trasladó a Hamburgo donde trabajó en teatros y tuvo oportunidad de realizar fotografías de gran cantidad de artistas.
En 1947 conoció a Wolfgang Borchert con quien entabló una estercha amistad. Realizó retratos a personajes del teatro como K. R. H. Sonderborg, Jean-Louis Barrault o Samuel Beckett.
Entre los premios que ha recibido destacan: Premio de la Exposición Internacional de fotografía escénica de Salzburgo en 1955, Premio de cultura de la asociación alemana de fotografía en 1976 y la medalla Biermann-Ratjen de la ciudad de Hamburgo en 1982.
Murió en 1990.

Rosemarie Clausen (Rose Marie Margarethe Elisabeth Kögel), German photographer born in 1907 in Berlin, specializing in images about theater.
After her art studies, since 1925 she trained in photography at the school of Lette-Verien in Berlin. She worked as a collaborator of the photographer Elli Marcus until she left Germany in 1933, so she continued to make photographs in the theaters by herself, working mainly for the national theater in the Gendarmenmarkt directed by Gustaf Gründgens. In 1938 she published her first book of photographs entitled "The Man Without a Mask".
In 1938 she married the journalist Jürgen Clausen with whom she lived until his death in 1944 because of the American bombings of the Big Week. At the end of the war she moved to Hamburg where she worked in theaters and had the opportunity to take photographs to a large number of artists.
